ENSUITE BATH REFRESH!
So this was a quick one, it took about three days (started August 7, 2025). Just a small ensuite bathroom. The layout was fine, the finishes--floor, lighting, vanity, mirror, hardware, etc.--were old and tired. Pretty easy to fix!
Different view of the tired old sink, mirror, and lighting.
Going to replace the toilet with a new chair-height model...
...and replace the old and unattractive plastic & chrome shower hardware.
Time to get started! :)
Vanity, lighting, plumbing, hardware, and toilet have all been removed.
Alternate view—the drain line coming out of the side wall means that I will have to do some surgery on the new vanity to make that work. No worries, though! :)
Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)--such a great product! Waterproof, durable, and beautiful. And it can be installed directly over any old flooring, which saves a ton on labor costs. :)
New lighting (chosen by the homeowner) is in.
New chair-height toilet is set in place.
That's the surgery I had to do on the new vanity--measured the spot, used my hole saw, and voila! The perfect location for the drain line.
Vanity is set in place. I always keep things tidy on my projects--cleaning as I go.
Adding the new bronze hardware chosen by the client.
New bronze towel bars (18" and 24"), toilet paper holder, and vanity pulls.
Now time to tackle this...
…getting there…
…Done! It looks SO MUCH better--and it functions better, too! The new shower head pressure BLOWS AWAY the old one. :)
Connecting the new bronze hardware to the marble topped vanity...
...all done. Drain line is next.
And there we have it! Bathroom refresh 90% complete--just waiting on the new white-framed 36" x 36" mirror, and the new bronze floor register grate. Those will be in by the end of this week, and then we can stick a fork in this project because it is DONE. :)
Again, this was a quick and fun ensuite bathroom refresh! The client has new flooring, a new toilet, new vanity, lighting, hardware, fixtures, baseboards, and shoe moulding (all new water supply lines, valves, and drain line also). Only the mirror and floor grate are pending, but those will take may 15 minutes to finish... So this one is in the books! :)
